Moving On

So, last Tuesday, I put in an in-house application for a new IT job.  Monday, I get a call from Ron, the head of IT, asking me to come in for an interview the next day.  Tuesday morning, I go to the interview, meet with another one of the guys from IT who I'd be backup for, and they arrange a meeting to talk about the hiring prospects for later in the day.  I go back to my warehouse work.  Their meeting time comes and goes, and a short time later, Ron comes down to the warehouse and kidnaps me for an interview with either the second or third guy in charge of the whole zoo for something that's a bit more formal of an interview (and here I had changed back into my gift shop uniform from my nicer clothes).  The second interview went well, and I returned to the warehouse job again, leaving around 4:00.  At 5:00, Ron calls me again, asking if I could come in the next morning to talk with all of the IT guys.  I go in this morning, and they're telling me how things work, what I'd be doing, what life in IT is like—not that I'm hired yet or anything.  Not even a half-hour after that little meeting ended, Ron comes down again to the warehouse, this time saying, "My condolences; you're now an IT person."

So yeah, no more gift shop warehouse for me!  I'm now a full-time IT worker, starting next week!
